Summary
The EPE operator will display documents once called by Counsel, with the default display being the standard view of the document. Upon request, the operator can use additional features to show two documents simultaneously and customise the way the documents are displayed on screen.
We've set out how to use the additional features below.
EPE Additional Features
Simultaneous Document View
We can display two documents simultaneously via a split screen feature or through the installation of a secondary EPE set up. This is useful in instances where the bundle contains native language documents with a translation.
If you would like to make use of a multi-document display, you will need to liaise with your Case Manager in the first instance.
Customising the Document Display
The display of documents can be customised to draw attention to certain areas on screen by using the features in the table.
| Feature | Summary | Counsel Terminology |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | Provides better visibility of documents with small, hard to read font or intricate diagrams. | Request an area to zoom - "Can the operator please zoom into the bottom half of the page.” |
| Highlight | Draws attention to particular words, phrases or sections in a matter of seconds. | Request section(s) to highlight - "Please can we highlight the first sentence in paragraph 2". |
| Box Select | Draw attention to a specific section with or without additional text highlighting. | Request an area to box - "Can we please focus and have a box around paragraph 3.”* |
| Call-out | Page will be faded leaving a zoomed inversion of the section of interest visible. Emphasise key facts in your document, with optional highlighting available upon request. | Request at area to call-out - “Can we please call-out paragraph 2". |
| Side-by-side Call-out | Multiple call-outs can be used across two documents being displayed simultaneously (a total of four across the two files). | Request a side-by-side call-out - "Please can we make a call-out on both paragraph 5’s”. |
* NB. Instruction can be combined with the highlight instruction for extra emphasis
