Summary

Opus 2 can facilitate a public livestream of the hearing where public access is required. The process and key considerations are outlined below.

What is a Public Livestream?

The public livestream operates independently from the video conferencing platform used to conduct the virtual hearing. This separation helps ensure there is no impact on the security or performance of the hearing platform.

Viewers accessing the livestream will only receive the audio and video of the hearing. The livestream does not include:

  • Evidence presentation (EPE) displays
  • The live transcript feed

Access to the Livestream

The public livestream will be password protected. The access link and password will be provided to the Judge’s Clerk and the Listings Office, who will manage distribution.

Parties wishing to circulate the livestream details must seek permission from the Listings Office and Judge's Clerk before doing so. Third parties requesting access should contact the Listings Office directly.

Confidential Sessions

The livestream will normally remain active throughout the hearing. However, if the court moves into a confidential session, the Virtual Hearing Manager can disable the livestream at the direction of the Judge and reactivate it once the confidential session has concluded.

To allow this to be managed effectively, a short break in proceedings will be required when the livestream is paused or restarted.
