Summary

It is necessary for parties to obtain permission for the use of transcription services through completion of the EX107 OFC form. We have set out below how to complete and submit the EX107 OFC form to the Court for approval.

Our Case Management team would be happy to discuss the best way to complete the form if further assistance is required.

Instructions

All parties are required to submit a single collective EX107 form for approval by the Judiciary prior to the use of transcription services.

To avoid delays or distribution issues, please ensure the form is completed thoroughly before submission.

Distribution List Requirements

All third parties who require receipt of the transcript must be listed in Part 1.
Examples include:

  • Instructed Barristers’ Chambers

  • End clients

  • Solicitors not formally on record

Any email addresses provided to Opus 2 that do not correspond with entities listed in the approved EX107 form will not be added to the distribution list.

This is a Judiciary requirement and cannot be amended retrospectively without a revised form being approved by the Judge.

How to Complete the "Date of Hearing" Section (Part 1, Section B)

When completing the hearing dates, please insert:

"[Start Date] to [End Date] and any other required sitting days"

This wording helps prevent the need for a secondary form if timetable changes occur.

Submission Process

Once Sections A and B are complete:

  1. Provide the form to the Judge’s Clerk.

  2. The Clerk will complete Section C.

  3. The Clerk must then send the form to Opus 2 or the Parties electronically.

Please note we are unable to proceed until the fully completed form has been received.

Key Points to Avoid Delays

  • Submit one collective form only

  • Ensure all distribution recipients are listed

  • Use inclusive date wording

  • Obtain Clerk completion before returning to Opus 2
